Your Artwork

To prepare your artwork, following are our requirements.

1. We require 0.25″ bleeds.  2. CMYK colour mode. 3.File format. 4.Help with preparing your files. 5.File Resolution. 6.Required resolution for file. 7.Missing Fonts. 8.Missing Images

Does your artwork have 0.25″ bleeds?
We require a 0.25″ or 3mm bleed around the perimeter of your artwork to ensure accurate cutting (e.g., artwork for a 4″x6″ postcard should extend to 4.25″ x 6.25″). If your file has a white border on all four sides, bleeds are recommended but not required. If your image is not white on all four sides, you must include bleeds in print-ready files. If you ever want help setting up your files, please email us at:  contact@kg.com

You need to use CMYK colour mode?
Yes. If your files are submitted using any other colour standard, such as RGB or Pantone, they will be converted to CMYK.  Conversion from one colour standard to another may cause colours to shift.
If you have prepared your work in RGB it is necessary to Convert in CMYK. All your artwork for printing from RGB to CMYK gives you more control over the final result of the colour. When we receive your artwork we will check to see if it has been converted to CMYK.
All files must be prepared in with CMYK colours. If you are designing your own artwork, be sure to convert colours from RGB format to CMYK.

We accept most common file formats.
We accept print-ready files in any of the following formats: .eps, .jpg, .pdf, .ps, .psd, .tif.  We can also print raster images (.tiff and .jpeg) created by any application if they are submitted as high-quality, uncompressed 300 dpi, 8 bit, CMYK colour mode.
We can also accept most common and used formates. If you ever have any problems or questions setting up your files, simply call or email us.

We help you designing the artwork?
We have our in-house designing unit to design your job for printing. We also can assist you with file preparation. If you have any specific questions, please contact us at 00000000 or email contact@kg.com

Why is resolution important?
Resolution also known as DPI (Dots Per Inch) can be described as the number of dots that fit horizontally and vertically into a one-inch space. Generally, the more dots per inch, the more detail captured and the sharper the resulting image.
We recommend your files to be minimum of 300 dpi or higher.
When scanning your photograph or anything else for that matter, you must ensure that you are scanning at an absolute minimum of 300 dpi (dots per inch). When preparing your artwork with images and photographs, when you provide your PDF, EPS or AI files please ensure that they are all embedded within your final artwork document.

Alterations/Corrections
Client alterations must be specified in writing and must include all corrections or changes from the original specifications. Each work will be charged at reasonable rates.

Pre-press Proofs
When requested by the customer, We will submit colour proofs for the customer’s review and approval.Charges are applicable for colour proofs. Proofs must be returned to us marked “O.K.” or “Revised Proof Required” and signed by the customer. Until the proof is returned, no additional work will be performed. The printers are not be responsible for undetected production errors if:

  • Proofs are waived by the client;
  • The work is printed per the client’s written OK;
  • Requests for changes are communicated verbally.

All requests for changes of any kind must be made in writing to avoid mistakes.

Colour Proofing
Because of differences in equipment, paper, inks, and other conditions between colour proofing and production press room operations, a “pleasing colour” variation between colour proofs and the completed job [as determined by generally accepted trade technical methods] is to be expected. When such a variation occurs, it will be considered acceptable performance.
